Flo Hurd's 105th Birthday Celebration July 17, 2011 at Hoke Hall
|
The band The Dreamers provided the music. In
these tough financial times a great deal was
struck for the benefit of the park and the band.
They use Hoke Hall every Thursday night from
7-9 PM to rehearse, free of charge and they
provide music for us three times a year at no
charge. All residents are welcome to watch their
rehearsals but please don't ask for requests. Just
sit quietly and enjoy!
The town declared July 17 as Flo Hurd
Day. Enjoying the event is Town Council
President Jim Walker and his lovely bride
Eileen.

The Board of County Commissioners will
present a proclamation to Flo at the July
26 meeting at 9 AM, held in the
Commission Chambers, County
Administrative Center, 2401 SE Monterey
Road, Stuart.
Come on down and show your support.
Flo would really appreciate it.
It is with great sadness to announce that Florence E. "Flo" Hurd passed away on August 28, 2011. The last weeks of her visit here on Earth before returning home to the Father were filled with joy. Flo enjoyed the party and all the family members who came to join us as we celebrated this special woman's birthday. She constantly talked about how she was driven to the County Commissioner's meeting in a stretch limo. Surely she is regaling the angels about Ocean Breeze Park and telling her many jokes. We only hope she tones some of them down. We miss you, Flo.
